Mr. Lemon and I did a bit of traveling this weekend with some friends.  First, a trip to my brother and sister-in-law’s home to welcome my new nephew to the family!  Of course, he is beautiful and I can’t wait to throw him some parties!

Then, we headed up to Northern Michigan to watch my best friend run her first half marathon (she’s a rock star!) and imbibe in some wine tasting on Old Mission Peninsula outside of Traverse City.

We stumbled across a store downtown called Nest and I had to stop in :)

Lots of cute things in the store, but this book and tablescape caught my eye – too perfect for me with book title and the bird vases!  I have to admit, the store owners did not seem very keen on my photo taking, even after I explained that I write a blog called “This Nest is Best.”  Ah well, they didn’t ask me to stop, and so I continued snapping with mild discretion.

The vineyards on Old Mission Peninsula are absolutely beautiful, with views overlooking Lake Michigan.  Although it didn’t rain much, the sky stayed overcast for most of our trip and so I can only imagine what it would have looked like with clear skies!

We also ate some fabulous food, including cupcakes and little cake bites called Morsels!  I may have to do some experimenting on making my own morsels (although I may call them “moments” – since I accidentally did that about four times this weekend!  ha!).  Stay tuned!

I’d also like to thank all of our servicemen and women for giving so much.  I have friends and family who have served and are currently serving and it is truly a life decision, not simply a career.  I wish for a day of peace for you and your loved ones.
