Has anyone else checked out the amazing Jason Wu collection for Target?  Even the first lady got on board with his fashion for the masses.  I immediately fell in love with this skirt, and after lusting after it for a few weeks, I bought it.  Unfortunately, I finally admitted that it is not the most flattering on moi and returned it.  (insert sad face here)  So instead of being able to wear a piece from his collection, I’m going to create a party inspiration board instead.  This way I can still enjoy his gorgeous design, albeit in a less direct way.  It’s an “Homage to the gorgeous-Jason-Wu-skirt-party!”

For the inspiration, I pulled lots of navy blues with pops of yellow and red.  I love how a chevron fabric mimics the accordion pleats in the skirt!  Lots of flowers would be essential and an overall modern, slightly funky vibe for a summer shindig!  I would love to see this for a modern bridal shower or summer milestone birthday BBQ.  Anything that’s not too fussy but still needs an extra dose of style!
