This past New Year’s Eve, we hosted a Speakeasy themed party.  With The Great Gatsby movie set to release in just a few weeks, I thought it would be a great opportunity to share some of the party elements I didn’t fully address in the original post.  So get ready for a week of Speakeasy style!

One of the most fun elements to put together for the party was the playlist.  To be fair, this is really Mr. Lemon’s forte and one of his designated jobs during party planning, but I definitely enjoyed helping put this collection together.  We tried to have a mix of era appropriate music with more current songs that somehow reflected the era.  To open the night, we started with more ragtime songs, then moved into more jazzy music and finally ended the night with newer electronic swing (a new found love of mine!)…
